AUNT JAN'S MACKEREL CANTONESE

INGREDIENTS:

  • 6 whole mackerel, split1/2 stick melted butter
  • 1/2 c. lemon juice
  • 1 tsp. salt
  • Dash of pepper
  • 1 tsp. paprika

PREPARATION:

Place mackerel in a single layer of pan and brush with melted butter, juice, and seasoning mixture. Grill or broil 10 minutes on each side.
Serve with sweet and sour sauce: 1 1/2 tbsp. cornstarch in 3 tbsp. water 3/4 c. water 5 tbsp. catsup 3 tbsp. soy sauce 5 tbsp. sugar
Blend all ingredients together and cook over medium heat until clear and thickened, stirring to prevent lumping.
